Book Discussion: Crucial Conversations

"Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High" The classic guide to conversing in high-impact situations, Crucial Conversations helps you get constructive results when emotions run high and opinions vary, in the workplace and beyond. It explains how to:

➤ Transform negative feelings into powerful dialog

➤ Make it safe to talk about almost anything

➤ Be persuasive, not abrasive

➤ Improve professional and personal relationships

➤ Impact productivity, quality, and safety in a positive way

Rev. Mark Hoelter, facilitator of UUCR's "Start-UP Workshop" & Rev. Barbara Coeyman recommended that members use the methods in this book to build a stronger congregation during our transition period and in support of their personal and professional lives.

Executive Coach Tony Mayo will lead six discussions roughly following the chapter sequence of the book, Crucial Conversations, 2nd Edition. Tony Mayo will provide an overview of key points at each session, so reading the book is not required to participate. Emphasis will be on discussion and role play of participants’ real life conversations.

Tony, will you be able to start the class this week, or do you need another delay? Whatever works for you and your family.

Please note that, due to pressing family circumstances, I am postponing the start of our class for two weeks. The new schedule is: April 24 • May 01, (skip 08), 15 & 22, (skip 29) • June 5 & 12.

I regret any inconvenience this may cause.

This book was just recommended by someone else! Not sure I can make *every* meeting, but I will try.
