We're new here!Join us!
As photographers, we are aware that our profession is one of the most competitive around. We need to band together, however, to address the dissolving floor of our market. Without doing anything to harm competition or to go against the normal forces of this market economy, we need to examine and address the effects of TFP work. We are asked way too often to work for free. Huge numbers of talented amateurs have flooded the market, making it quite easy to find photographers willing to work for free. This has reduced the value of skilled photography to the point where many of us struggle to survive.
What can be done? Clearly we must not act illegally or unethically, but there needs to be conversation around this topic and others if we are to protect our profession.
Please join the conversation. Or join for other reasons. This is a group for Northwest Photographers to mingle and converse.
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
