Subject: [UHA-Dog-Rescue] Saved 4 dogs during the week!

Hi Fellow Dog Rescuers,

I'm happy to report that this week Kerry and I helped Ric Browde get 4 dogs to a temporary kennel facility in Sunland. One of the dogs was Bubba, the sweet German Shepherd Dog I hung out with on the last shelter day. I was so worried that he wasn't going to get out in time. But he did, thanks to Ric! I had a chance to interact with him for a few minutes at the kennel before heading back. I think he remembered me because he cried a little bit when I left. He's one of those special dogs I won't forget. (They just make a nest in your heart, don't they?)

I'm psyched to get out there again at the shelter and help another group of dogs get in the spotlight so they have a better chance at adoption. There are so many things I'd like to try to organize for the group but I still have to get my regular work done so I can pay my rent. Anyway, I have loads of ideas and I'm sure you do to, and I'd like to harness that good energy and thought into real action so I'm suggesting that all of you can offer real help in your own way, with your own creativity and passion...

Think about how you might help the group help more dogs, and get more donations, etc. I know that not all of you know about the ins and outs of how the group works, and not all of you want to, but every last one of you has a talent and drive that can be effectively channeled into making a clear difference in the life of one or many dogs.

So think about what you would like to get out of the group, what your talent is, where your interest lies, and let me know what you would like to do to help these dogs. I also don't want to forget that MeetUp is all about meeting up in person as well, and that some of you probably would like to meet each other away from the shelter.

I'm planning on having a potluck at my place one day soon so we can share our knowledge and pool our ideas, and if you'd like to help in any way with regard to anything I've discussed so far, I'm all ears! See you soon.
