Join Ed Geraty for an evening of Kirtan hosted by the Roots and Wings CUUPS Pagan chapter at TUUC.
Vocal accompaniment by Robin Stefans. Instrumental accompaniment by Adan Ayala
Kirtan spiritual practice (call and response chant) originated in India and is over 5000 years old. This spiritual practice quickly spread throughout India, as well as in the West, where today Kirtan is seen as one of the deep paths to enlightenment.
It has been likened to modern American Gospel music, and in its heartfelt expression it compares to profound states of deep meditation. It is a Heart practice. not an intellectual one.
Through Kirtan we are drawn to the Universal Presence, the BuddhaMind, the Transcendent Reality that is within us. Feel free to bring percussion instruments (drums, shakers, rattles, etc) and join us in this deeply moving spiritual practice.
This Interspiritual Kirtan draws from many traditions; Pagan, Hindu, Buddhist, and Southern Gospel.
There is no fee but donations are gratefully appreciated and accepted
We look forward to your presence
