I have the latest Oculus Rift equipment on order. I am putting together a very exciting project. Is there a way I can get a recap on the meeting?

This was the best VR meet up ever. It was great to demo our latest 360 videos. Please email us if you are interested in an Oculus Video Demo for your organization from 360VIDY.com.

    hi, it was amazing!
i never asked the guy with the 3d flying/shooting game with xbox-ish controller what his project was - if you are the said dude (but anything flying 3d is epic and you know it!), what was it?

Hi everyone, I am excited about what will be happening here at the VR LAB meetup! I create 3D chalk/street art illusions and have worked with vendors who have added AR to some of my projects in USA and India. Wish to get to know those who would like to collaborate on bringing Oculus Rift VR into my designs and I to create designs that bring out the conceptual aspects of your VR applications. Anyone who wishes to reach out to me would be great! Best, Anthony Cappetto

I absolutely love this - I would love to speak with you about creating a YouTube type portal for people to upload their own experiences and allow Oculus wearers for playback from the site library.

    • Taylor F.

Hey Jason, looks like we're having a similar vision. We should certainly chat further at the event!

I have a Oculus based 360 degree video startup called 360VIDY.com What is Panoramic 360° Video?http://youtu.be/Xoytq6X5HXM

Yes Edwin great stuff would like to understand more about this also! This is going to be an interesting meet-up! : ).

Edwin thats fantastic, it felt almost like using Google street view but instead of still images its a video. Plus immersing into that with the Rift. An interesting idea for possibly disabled people who never were able to explore different countries, and you basically can have a pre-recorded "360 Video Tour" of Rome for example. With the Rift those people can imagine themselves there without leaving their homes. Just an idea for you, Lol if you make millions with that, i wouldn't mind a cut. ;)

Will this event have enough Oculus Rifts or VRs to test out. I have never tried any VR kit yet, looking forward to it thought with couple of my buddies.

Hey Moisey, yes there will be a few in the building that you can play with.

Although this may not be on point for the discussion below, I wanted to reply. I fell off the Santa Monica Pier last August head first onto the concrete below and suffered a severe head trauma. My docs at Burke Rehab in NY are all about trying new things and actually suggest the Rift as a way to help my spatial processing. It has been an incredible tool and has really forced me to use my brain in new ways - I think there is a huge community out there of trauma sufferers who could use the Rift.

Ellen, that is an incredible story. Would love for you to share with the group at the event.

thanks Taylor - so excited to meet you all

Let's chat about all of this as I do believe there is room for publishable material on using OR - so far have not discussed with the company but let's start the conversation. I am a professor but also new startup entrepreneur...can't wait to meet everyone

Hey Ellen, it will certainly be interesting to see what happens with publishing to VR. Look forward to meeting you

In my time working for Oculus running demos, I've had multiple opportunities to discuss exactly this kind of work (creating content for therapeutic purposes - ranging from stuff aimed at folks on the autism spectrum, to those suffering PTSD, and even kids with various learning disorders/socialization problems) with a number of people. So I know that folks are thinking about, if not actually doing any research. I'd be very interested in discussing this sort of content for the Rift with any of you, and am interested in possibly even creating something for use in this arena.

    4 · June 20

    • ellen f.

I would love to discuss this further since I am a walking example of what Rift can do to help those with brain injuries

      1 · June 21

    • Pamela V.

Likewise would like to discuss with you Dov are you working with OR because I'm starting talks with them and want to speak about these kinda of possibilities for the Rift. I also do video narratives and video art. Oddly a creative transmedia strategist for agencies. Have to be a jack/jane in the world today. The health, medical and learning applications are endless and helping people have better lives in the process makes it so much more rewarding. I'm really looking forward to this meet and greet.

  • David P.

I am traveling in July, but I have a space that would fit 50 for future events.

    1 · June 21

  • Pamela V.

This is is the stuff I am very curious about and want to talk to Rift about! Makes a lot of sense that it can be used on multiple levels for physical therapy, cognitive/REM manipulation, Alzheimer's and any disconnection of brain control from body like autism!
I am very glad this was brought up! Anyone have any research info on it?

    1 · June 20

    • ellen f.

I have been having discussions with neurologists, neuro-psychs and cognitive psychs - it is really something exciting. Maybe some of us can work on researching this - I am a professor so used to lots of research (LOL)
