Upper Delaware GLBT Center‘s Second Annual GLBTQ and Ally Prom
The Upper Delaware GLBT Center (UDGLBT) is proud to announce the second annual GLBTQ and Ally* Prom to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 7PM. This dinner/dance will be held at the Best Western Inn at Hunt’s Landing, located at 120 Route 6 and 209, Matamoras, PA, 18336. This year’s theme is Mad Hatter. Dress to express and please yourself.**
Patty Tomaszewski, Executive Director/UDGLBT said: “The prom is a wonderful tribute to GLBTQ youth. We, as a community, are showing them our respect for them as unique individuals and providing them an opportunity to interact with positive GLBTQ and Allied adult role models. By seeing well adjusted, happy, GLBTQ and Allied adults interacting with each other with warmth and acceptance we are giving them hope for the future. Your attendance, as adults living in a diverse community, provides our youth the opportunity to see how their lives can be better now.”
The prom also gives GLBTQ and Allied adults the opportunity to finally have that special evening that maybe they did not have at their first prom, if they went at all, and for our young adults to share an evening of love and acceptance with both GLBTQ and Allied Adults in unity and respect. Lessons we can all carry with us for a lifetime!
The theme, chosen by the youth of our community, is Mad Hatter. This dinner/dance will be held in the Ballroom and will feature that audacious local celebrity “Sugar” with music provided by DJ Flow and Hot –Traxx Entertainment. Formal pictures will be taken and there will also be a photo booth, provided by Flash Shack, for our guests’ enjoyment. All are welcome to attend this exciting community event!
Tickets are $45 for Adults and $30 for young adults (ages 14 to 20). This includes dinner and dessert. Adults of drinking age who wish to access the cash bar will be given wristbands.
