Learn to Make Cold Process Soap

Come learn how to make soap the old-fashioned way - with lye and fat and patience. It's easier than you think, a lot of fun and it's satisfying to learn to create soap that contains exactly what you want.

Gayle and Theresa will teach you the basics and some variations. A small fee will be charged for this meetup, as we'll be providing all the supplies for two batches of soap. We're scheduling this so that the bars have enough time to cure and you can give them as Christmas gifts, if you like. Each person will have a few bars coming to them as soon as the soap cures and can be cut.

The lye portion of the process will take place OUTSIDE, so please dress for the weather!

PLEASE RSVP AND PAY BY OCTOBER 13TH, so supplies can be purchased based on how many people will be attending.

Very good time, thanks for organizing/hosting and putting it on(Theresa and Gayle). Looking forward to the pot luck gathering in early November.

I'm going to have to pass (drats!). Like Thea said, use the materials fee as you see fit. Sorry if I have inconvenienced anyone.

I look forward to learning more about the group.

(p.s. Let me know if anyone knows where I can advertise baby lavender keets for sale in the Olympia area -- they're irresistible!)

Keets as in juvenile guinea fowl?

Yes. Sweethearts with lavender feathers! Let me know if you'd like to see photos.

I am afraid I am going to have to bag out too. I was really looking forward to this, but I can't make it. I hope it will be offered again. I am happy to donate my $4 worth of materials to anyone who would like to attend the workshop but is short on funds. Thanks for offering this class, and sorry to bag out at the last minute but I have to write a paper for class.

Sorry - my whole family has some serious respiratory bug, and I won't be able to make it. Really disappointed - hope there's another chance, and please use the materials fee as you see fit.

I am not going to be able to make it after all. Very disappointed. I already paid so if Brandi Gibson has time - she can make my soap. ;)

I hope I'm not too late to join the soap making class. What a wonderful thing to learn! It's a hike for me to come, but well worth the journey. Can I still join in?

    xx xx

I will probably bring my boyfriend, warning he will talk your ear off about cars. On a side note I finally got a hold of some silver pheasants I am so excited for next spring

Wish we could - really, really! - but we are in Carnation that weekend, until 1pm. Maybe another time? Please?

I've had a few requests, so I'll see what we can do about a second session. It may have to be post-holidays, though.

Hey, I'm trying to figure out if I can make it to this gathering and I tried to locate Therese's house address on map quest and could not do it. Could someone (Therese maybe, or Gayle) double check the address and get back to me??

Thank you Theresa for passing me that info. I'd like to come, and tried to sign up, but the meet up site would not let me until I paid on line. I do not have the ability to pay on line. May I just come and pass you $4.00 in cash, the dollar should not drop that much in value by the 20th of this month. What do you think?

      October 5, 2013

    • GAYLE N.

LOL, of course you can pay at the door, Donny! Do come.

I got my clinical schedule and I am free but would have to leave at 1:45- is an hour and 45 min ok ? Or would leaving early cause a problem?

    September 24, 2013

    • GAYLE N.

Oh, definitely come! You'll get a lot of info in that time and the handouts, too. Glad you can make it!

I plan to come - I just need to make sure I don't have clinical rotations that day. I will know my schedule around Sept 23-25

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
