Farm Barter Faire - Edelweiss Farm

This event is a much bigger version of our annual harvest swap! It's the first annual Farm Barter fair to swap, sell or barter everything from livestock to used farm equipment, hand made goods to produce and winter plant starts!

A great way to share what you have too much of and gain something you need. See the details at their website:

Hello all! Anyone have an excavator or backhoe they want to break out? We need some digging on our 20 acres! Thank you :D

My hubby does but he's on two jobs right now and I don't know how long until he's finished with those two.

I wasn't able to bring items/livestock, though I did bring a binder with pics & info on my items & livestock I have available. It was wonderful meeting folks, networking, and seeing what others had available to barter. Thank you so much, Gryph, for putting this event together! I'm putting the next one on my calender as an all-day event, no interruptions allowed! ;) My farming friend also wants to be involved in the next one, so I'm sending her the info.

I ended up having to work this weekend :( I will have stuff to bring next time--tools, plant starts. I would love to see fencing materials at a barter event--wire fencing (even scraps), bird or deer netting, bamboo poles, polypipe, rebar, t-posts, trellis wire, etc. If anyone wants scions from my ancient apple tree this year for grafting, I can bring those too--I haven't had the apple identified yet, but they are the best fresh-eating apple--like apple candy, sour and sweet and crunchy. Better than any I have tried at the co-op. I am currently trying to restore it to full health. Or from my other fruit trees.

Interesting event. I didn't bring much cause I didn't know what to expect. Can't wait for the next one.

I am glad my friend and I went with her daughter, but I was disappointed there weren't more things offered. I'd never been to a barter faire, and so I'm not in much of a position to complain because I didn't bring anything to barter not knowing what to expect. I really wanted to find seeds or starts of any type for my green house. The people were very friendly and nice, I felt welcome. Now I know more what to expect and will come better prepared.

Darnit I overbooked myself. Have to change my RSVP. I will be at the Pagoda Flower and Garden show at Point Defiance Park demonstrating 19th century garden crafts with the Fort Nisqually Garden Guild.
