Plant, Seed or Harvest Swap

The end of the main growing season is a great time to share extra bounty, save seeds for next year and to transplant perennials. For our first meetup, let's bring something to swap ~ a little or a lot. Do you have extra seeds for flowers or veggies? Too much winter squash you grew? Some plants that need dividing you can share? Or maybe just a nice bouquet of autumn flowers.

Sharon, you mentioned being interested in soap making. I have many moulds and have made lye soap twice. Let's talk about it that evening. Thanks for the offer of hosting, too. I'll keep you in mind for a future meetup.

right now I can get fat from venison and elk. I'll have to look up how to render it for soap.

Children are always welcome and as Gail said we need to encourage the next generation. My son will love the company.

Hi. I'm looking forward to this. I have black hollyhock, calendula, giant sunflower, and more to share. My eight year old daughter is very interested. Would it be okay if she came too? I will understand if the answer is no.
    Thanks!

Those sound great, Emily! Since I am not hosting this time, I'd direct your question about your daughter attending to Theresa. See you tomorrow! In general, of course, it's an adult group *however* my feeling is that if a child is genuinely interested and well-behaved, we all should encourage their interest :-)

Looks like we will have a good turnout! If folks want to bring an appetizer or dessert to share that would be great but no pressure! I will have drinks!

I'm brand new to this brand new group, and I think I can make it on the 14th, even if all I have to bring are potatoes I harvest that weekend =) Thanks for hosting and organizing!

Theresa, that would be wonderful! We'll have just closed on our house in Olympia that week and I still don't know if we'd be ready. We're moving from this small farm in Brady, WA to 2 acres in Oly. If you'll send me your address, I'll post it as the meetup location.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
