Hike the Bear Valley Trail at Point Reyes National Seashore

Lets hike the Bear Valley trail, a fairly flat 8-mile walk aside a stream on a shaded path that leads to a rocky overlook, Arch Rock, at the ocean. Bring a lunch and water. We will be stopping for lunch around the half-way point. Carpooling is encouraged since there is no public transportation to the trail. Drinks and oysters/other food afterwards The Farmhouse which is near the entrance to the park.

This was an eight mile hike on even terrain with the reward being a beautiful view of the ocean and the rocks.

Any idea when will we head back to the city? I need to be in the Mission around 7 pm for an event and I was wondering if I can get an idea of what should I give me friend as the tentative time?

Hi Everyone - looking forward to seeing u tomorrow! Again, lets meet at the entrance to the visitors center in the first parking lot as you come into the park. We will leave at 11:45. The trail is a straight up and back trail so if you are running late we will be on the Bear Valley Trail. Please bring water and food for our lunch break. Update your RSVP if you are no longer attending.

From what I see below, Marisa is giving me the impression that she may be willing to provide transportation. Please correct if I am wrong. I live in the Marina District so with notice, I can meet wherever it is convenient. Please let me know.

Is this a dog friendly event?

    August 2, 2013

    • Kyle H.

Sally, definitely contact the visitors center or ranger station. Dogs are only allowed on a few trails in Point Reyes and I cannot remember if this is one of them.

Hey Sally - it is a national park so i would contact the ranger station to see what the policy is. Otherwise I am ok if they are friendly and on a leash.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
