Walk to a Sake Factory in Berkeley!

We can do a short walk from Downtown Berkeley BART station to the Takara Sake Factory USA in Berkeley. It is about a two mile walk to the Sake Factory and if we are too tired to walk back we can take a bus down University avenue. Not only can we taste a variety of sakes, but we can also visit the sake museum. Tasting cost = $5.00. I am so sorry we missed you. We waited at the BART entrance until around 12:15 and then headed down to the Sake factory. It sounds like you made a great day of it tho. Hopefully, you can make it to another event.

Hi Mark, I was on the waitlist and got last minute notification of an open spot yesterday morning. I was excited to take part in this new experience so I took the BART to both Berkeley and North Berkely but to no avail. I spoke to some locals and was told that this Sake Factory was a half hour walk. Therefore, I stayed in Berkeley for the afternoon, had a great lunch, saw the city and the university. I hope that I will be able to join your group in the future. Dianne

Kate, I'll be starting my morning off at the SF Opera Open House so wil meet everyone at the Sake Factory. what time do you anticipate getting to the Sake Factory?? Is there a specific tour time?
Are there plans for lunch or snacks afterwards? I'll make a proposal to go to Vic's Chaat house for the weekend specials - 3 blocks away. Does that sound interesting?

This sounds like a blast! I love factory tours. Can one of the organizers attending hold some sort of sign with some obvious words to identify yourself? LOL, how about Sake? I have gone to a recent event and never found the members.
