This is a 3 session workshop that meets every Thursday and starts Feb 17, 6:30-9:30. Cost is 115/per person.
This workshop begins with a description of the properties and uses of steel, design criteria, and the tools used for manipulating it. We will look at both abstract and practical examples of making things with metal, including hot and cold connections and forming, cutting and drilling, and welding and soldering. Students can propose specific projects they would like to focus on, or we can suggest ideas, or just practice and explore. All skills welcome and no background is necessary.
The workshop is taught by Erica Moody, founder and principal of Magma Metalworks since 2001, and a professional metal fabricator for 17 years.
The workshop is held by The Workbench Annex at the studio of Magma Metalworks in Beverly, Ma. 59 Park Street, one block from the Beverly Depot Commuter stop, and also plenty of parking.
Class size limited to 7 (and has potential registrants from outside Meetup, so on-going tally here might not be accurate). Payment needs to be arranged to reserve spot.
For questions or to arrange payment, please contact Erica at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-686-0478. Payments can be check, cash, or via paypal from checking or cc.
