I'm tapping in Roxbury right now and plan 2-3 sap boils in the upcoming weeks - if anyone else is tapping/wants to tap and wants to get in on the big fire I'm building - let me know.

A little blog post about my so-far-results here:

Hey Kelly,

I'd love to get in on the tapping/fire building. I had a friend in Maine on 50 acres who taped and boiled the syrup outside years ago. I thought it was really cool, but wasn't really paying attention to what she was doing. My boyfriend has some Maple trees on his property that I'd love to tap. If you're will to teach me a bit about this, I'm willing to help with the heavy labor, if there is any? :-)

I'd be lying to you if I said I knew what I was doing - I'm just following instructions on http://www.tapmytrees...

I am definitely going to be boiling next Wednesday - starting first first thing in the AM until it's done - which might be all day, I think it could even take two days - but I don't know, ha. The rest I'll be playing a little by ear - but anyone who wants to come put a pot on the fire is more than welcome.

Boiled my sap today - a little over a gallon of sap, about 1/3 cup of syrup. Feeling pretty good about it.
