Bloomfest LA

Presented in the City of Los Angeles within the 52-block boundaries of the Downtown Arts District … where art in the streets happens every day, BloomfestLA features live indie music, great brews, good food, and eco-friendly fun. No other neighborhood in the City of Los Angeles other than the Downtown Arts District can truthfully boast a community with such a commitment to sustainable living — after all, where else can you find a place where residents repurposed rundown industrial buildings and transformed them into homes and creative spaces, maintaining them even during unprecedented times of change and neighborhood gentrification?

Named in honor of community activist Joel Bloom (1948–2007), BloomfestLA celebrates all things a’bloomin’ in Downtown Los Angeles — art, music, and even the environment … yep, blooms! Juxtaposed against a gray sea of concrete and dusty brick buildings, at various times of the year, visitors can enjoy lavender canopies of blooming jacarandas and yellow sunbursts of Caribbean trumpet trees. Here and there, bougainvillea can be seen heavily laden with fuchsia and coral blossoms, and late at night, the scents of white jasmine flowers and creamy night blooms on Peruvian apple cacti waft through the air, often overpowering even the most pervasive street smells.

DATE | TIME: Saturday, July 21 @ 2 PM to 10 PM

LOCATION: Downtown Arts District of Los Angeles at 3rd St. & Traction Ave. (90013) near Wurstküche, The Pie Hole, Zip Fusion Sushi, NoLA’s Taste of New Orleans, and District BBQ & Lounge.

This one of the first events we attended through Urban Adventure and totally loved it! Though we could not coordinate and meet any of the members :( - we'll definitely be catching up soon!

    Go Adventure people!

Just had to share this. I just arranged for 5 heat sensors to be sent to Angel City Brewing Co.! I never heard of them before Bloomfest, had their beer for the first time at the festival and now they are a new client by coincidence. This is so weird!

I had a great time with everyone who came this weekend! I didn't get to take many pictures, but I'll post one that I took with our little group. Sorry I didn't get the opportunity to meet some of you. Next time!

I haven't been to the rotating sushi bar to know how many people it can hold, and since we have a rather large group, I'm suggesting that we meet in front of Wurstkuche at 2:30pm. Obviously, anyone who wants to meet at the sushi bar earlier is welcome and can coordinate with Steve. My cell # is[masked] should anyone need to contact me tomorrow.

I could go later, usually there is a 20 to 30 minute wait to be seated. if anyone wants to come with, I'll put down how many seats will be needed when I get there. let me know by friday, I'll get there, earlier and you all could show up by 1:30 and we should be good to go.

Great ideas, Steve! Perhaps we should all plan to meet there. Noon might be a bit early though, since the festival doesn't start until 2pm.
