The Autry Nation Center is a great museum of Western Heritage, and during the summer it is open until 8 o'clock. They have a nice little cafe where we can grab a bite to eat, sit outside and watch the sunset over the LA Zoo. After, we can grab a cold one over at the Bigfoot Lodge just down the street.

There are two exhibits I have been wanting to see; first, an audio and visual immersion into the life and times of some big names in American Music of the West, and then an exhilarating view of the granite faces of Half Dome and El Capitan from rock climbing in Yosemite.

    •  Thanks Howard for hosting. I highly recommend checking-out the exhibit, and the museum is quite pleasant.
    •  It was fun learning about some country music history. Loved the letters from Fred Rose! Priceless! Especially enjoyed the Yosemite exhibit. Can't wait to head back to that great park!
    •  Good idea. Enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing the museum !
    •  Awesome exhibit - the history & intricate embroidery were captivating...
    •  We had a great time. The exhibits were beyond myu expectations, expecially the collection of country memorabilia that Marty Stuart has collected, some classic stuff, handwritten lyrics from Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, good music, good times. I'm posting a country music dancing event sometime soon. If you have a favorite venue, let me know.
