Habitat for Humanity is building a set of homes in Monrovia. We have had a number of very successful Habitat events in the past. For this event, I'd like to give some of our members who have not yet had the chance to volunteer for Habitat the first spots to get in on the action. For anyone who has joined us in the past, please RSVP "no" but with a message that you would like to be added when a spot comes up.

The work day will likely be 8am-1pm. They provide water and lunch and all of the tools. They are also good about providing instruction on the various tasks we'll be doing.

I've gotten the OK to bring 15 people total, but you all really need to show up.

This event will be limited for two reasons, first, Habitat limits the number of people working on any particular day, and we will be working alongside other volunteer groups on the same day. The other reason is that we have to come through with the full number of people, we can't have no-shows.

You do not need to have advanced construction skills to join us, just a desire to help.

There is a release form (as well as a safety manual) that are in the "Files" section of our website for those that have RSVP'd yes. Please be sure to update your RSVP if it turns out you cannot make it.

Thanks Howard for getting this together and making it fly..Maybe we can be there when the homes are completed? Also, had a blast at Hermosa Beach, it's a good thing we brought our bikes! Great minds think alike..and let me know when the bomb fire will take place.
