AAAAAAAAGUA CALIENTE HOT SPRINGS SOAKERS CAMP-OUT!

Aaaaaaaah, it’s that time again, when we Southern California living folks get to gloat about being able to camp in comfort and style even in the dead of Winter! We’re heading back to one of my favorite places to camp, the Agua Caliente County Park and HOT SPRINGS! Oh yes, we’ll camp in a vibrant and unique desert oasis, where the quail and bunnies greet you in the morning and it’s a short hop over to the hot springs—one indoor, one outdoor, so even if it’s a little brisk outside, you can quickly sooth those drive and hike weary muscles in the inviting waters!

We’ll arrive on Saturday, settling into our campsites--#33, #139 and #140 (these are actually all next to each other), exploring the hiking trails, and laughing and relaxing in the hot springs. Be sure to bring your bathing suits! We’ll enjoy a campfire meal, some pie from just up the road in Julian, and a nice bonfire on Saturday night. Sunday we’ll have breakfast, another soak, and head out for adventure either in Julian or around the Salton Sea!

For dinner I’ll be making a vegan veggie stew AND pulled pork, and for breakfast we’ll have Eggs Bourdain (with and without bacon). Here’s a link to get a vibe for the park…

The Full Moon is on the 27th, so on Saturday the 26th it should be beautiful to hike the Full Moon Trail, if that’s what you’re into! Temperatures in the desert can vary greatly, so be sure and pack layers—including swim gear and robes! The cost for this adventure is $35 to cover dinner and breakfast, camping fees and firewood. PLEASE PAY WHEN YOU RSVP!

Be sure to bring layers--it can get a little nippy in the evenings!  Car pools are recommended, so if you have a ride to share or would love to ride with other, note it and your location in your RSVP.

Any suggestions on which route to take there? From the 15 would the 79, 76, or 78 be quicker? I was thinking of going all the way down to the 78 to maximize major highway travel, but the other two look a little shorter.
