Cover with clover

Does anyone have any experience using clover in their garden? This benefits of the stuff are many:

  • Since clover is a legume, it'll fix nitrogen and should cut down on the amount of external fertilizer needed.
  • It's perennial, and should self-seed indefinitely.
  • More flowers = more bees
  • As a cover crop, it will keep weeds down.

I'm looking at Dutch White Clover, it's supposed to be drought tolerant once established, and can grow in clay soil. If there are better varieties, I'm all ears.
