Urban Legends is unusual in that we have intentionally become a community of friends, instead of simply meeting "acquaintances" for events, then going home. Become part of an active, fun, and growing community!
THE ABC'S OF URBAN LEGENDS:
A. Add a recognizable picture and a real name, so Organizers can locate you at events. One person per profile. Make another profile for your spouse.
B. If you RSVP to an event, be there. No-shows ruin our club reputation.
C. Pay $5 Dues- Cash- No Paypal. You must meet the Club Organizer in person, to join. That means you must rsvp to an event your Club Organizer (Laura) is attending, before your 15-day access ends. We do not use paypal. (Think of your Temporary Access as a spa pass. It ends if you do not pay to join.)

+ No-Show in our club means "any reservation which is UNRSVPd less than 24 hours before an event" without an emergency. Consider making and breaking several large RSVPs with your favorite restaurant. The result would not be pleasant.
Specific events may require a more firm policy. *No-shows ruin opportunities for everyone else in the club by damaging our reputation with a venue which has invited us to attend.
No-shows may face consequences. One of those consequences is removal from the club.
+ Pay your $5 Annual Dues to the Club Organizer/Laura at an event within 15 days, before your name is removed. Only Laura can accept your dues- not any other Event Host. Your Temporary website access allows you to see if the club is right for you. The Member list is purged frequently, so we know how many active Members we have.
+ Renewing Members? While we'd love to write everyone who applies to ask if you plan to attend and join (or stay as a Member), it is impossible. Urban Legends removes 50-80 names monthly, mostly individuals who planned to join but forgot or just never attended an event to join. The month you joined is posted on your own profile, so you are responsible for paying the next year, at some time during the month you joined. WE WANT ALL OF OUR FRIENDS TO STAY! You're friends. However, life changes, jobs take our time, and families become complicated. If you are removed and want to return, simply reapply and you will be welcomed to return.
Members who have been in Urban Legends for at least one year may mail their dues via post office. Email Laura for details.
+ *If you are a couple, apply separately, so you have separate profiles.
+ Please Maintain a Correct Email Address. Returned emails may cause Meetup.com to "remove you" to protect their computer email server. Urban Legends has nothing to do with that. Changes to events don't happen often, but when they do, you want to find us!
Q: Why should I join a networking/social club?
Our Members treat you like family while you find your favorite events. Maybe you need a little help transitioning back into single life. Or perhaps you are just looking for something different to do. Urban Legends makes it easy to meet new friends with similar interests, become more active, and to build new friendships.
Q: Are social clubs just "singles" clubs?
Of course not. While a large portion of our membership is single, at least 25% of our members are in committed relationships and want to have fun just like single people. We are also not a "virtual" club. Applicants must meet the Club Organizer to become a member.
The key to successful events are the Urban Legends Event Coordinators. Each Event Coordinator volunteers to create helpful & innovative events. When you attend an event you will be greeted, introduced to other members at the event, and you'll walk away with a sense of having met some great people.
If you have questions, please direct them to the Event Host/Organizer.
Q: May I bring guests to an event?
It depends. If the event has a limited number of spaces available then only Urban Legends members might be allowed. Some events with limited attendance allow for "Plus Ones".
You may add Non-Members as a "Plus One" Guest, but Members RSVP for themselves. We want to give everybody the same chance to RSVP.
+ *When a guest has attended 3 events, the guest will be expected to join Urban Legends in order to attend more events.
+BE NICE! We are here as a friendly, inviting community which benefits everyone involved. Drama is not encouraged. Work it out in private if possible. Bickering is destructive. Insulting anyone in the club-especially on the club website- is not tolerated. Think before you post. You may be removed without refund at the discretion of the Club Organizer.

Urban Legends is your club. When you RSVP for a planned event, you and others on the event list share at least one common interest! Networking and friendship potential is unlimited!
