Regarding the meetup and the medical prepping book I mentioned, it's: The Doom and Bloom(tm) Survival Medicine Handbook by Joseph Alton M.D. and Amy Alton ARNP I haven't read it myself, but the early reviews look excellent and it's available via Amazon.

Great mtg...full off tips from members more knowledgable on the subject than myself (The pair of "Jacks", Treg, Brenda, etc). Thank you all very much! Looking forward to our shooting night and self-defense meet up :)

Loved the group I just posted a new idea in the discussion forum, because I know we have some great ideas that we shared this weekend and I would like to be able to share them to all. Develop bug out bags, rifle training, permaculture, Paleo BBQ, harvesting crops, etc. So get back to me and let me know what you guys think.

Again, another great Meetup. Too bad people RSVP and then do not show up. The conversations were enlightening and entertaining. It is also too bad this event never become a real Meetup. Otherwise I could change the RSVP count to 11.

Great people - learned a lot and Enjoyed good food served by a very nice, caring staff. I look forward to future growth of our group and "Field Trips" as we discussed.

    Sy
    It's at a place called Jay's--7820 N Washington--NE corner of Washington and 78th st
BTW--I plan on being there--I'm a wildlife rehabilitator and I have an injured animal on it's way here right now--depending on how that goes will determine if I can make it or not

I've searched for it online, but no luck. Can someone who is familiar with the place call and give them a heads up?

Should someone call Jay's? If we get a similar turn out it might be to our benefit to call and give them a head's up. It will be a Saturday night.

I work on 62nd and Wash. There is Tamale Kitchen around the corner, the Grizzly Rose-packed because of Stock Show. There is also Jay's at around 70 & Wash, great place to eat, and also Mickey's steakhouse which we also go to quite a bit for lunch. I think the only ones able to set up enough room for us is Mickey's and Jay's. By the way I'm Keith I just found your site and look forward to finding people in my area with the same interests and outlook on life.

I'm tentative at the moment, but will make every effort to be there. I'll be able to firm up a day or two in advance. My previous search revealed few options for nearby restaurants. There's a Wendy's across the street, and a McDonalds and Subway to the east across Washington.

If there is NOT a big interest in the gun show, we can just meet for dinner. I am fine either way. Is there any interest in the gun show? We shouldn't let this enthusiasm dwindle away. I got the impression, since the Meetup title mentions the show, that it is part of the activity. Either way is fine for me, but I like to get details nailed down. Perhaps we should have two events on the calendar for this day?

I wasn't really planning on going to the gun show--I was at it back in Dec. If a meetup place is decided for after the show I'd love to try to make it

If would like to go to the gun show, I would like to propose a time and place to meet. We can meet at the front door, just off to the right side (if you are facing the ticket counter). Shall we say 3:30? The show ends on Saturday at 5pm, that will give attendees 90 minutes. Also, let make the time to meet after the show at 5:15? If you are attending the show, you don't want to wait for an hour to gather. Anyone like this idea? We can decide on a restaurant after we nail these details down.
