DUSN Monthly Social Meetup XI

Rackhouse Pub inside of Stranahan's Whiskey has been kind enough to open up a spot for us to meet the second Sunday of each month. The Rack House Pub a pretty nice place with very tasty beverages, open space, and good seating. This is a great environment for everyone to get together in a social setting, for new members to introduce themselves, and to reinforce that we don't have to go at this alone. The Rackhouse Pub is right off the highway in a pretty central location. The room we have been meeting in is all the way to the back of the bar through a door that is nicely closed off and convienent for chatting. The front dest staff is pretty helpful, just let them know you are meeting a group and they can direct you back. I can't wait to see everyone there!

Hey all! I'm not going to be able to make it to this one, I did call to make sure that everything is all set up and ready in the back room we are typically in! I hope you all have a fantastic time, let me know if you need anything!

    Comment on the first video:

It assumes bugout required. Shelter in home is usually better because you can have a lot more gear to better match emergency conditions. The amount of food and water storable at home is far preferred. He mentions 3 guns. Just the ammo for 3 guns is not something you want to haul around. His kit is poorly thought out. Parts are redundant, others are missing. A water filtration unit is necessary, his little bottle would last less than a day. There is virtually no body of water in the US that is safe to drink from; and none should be trusted after an emergency. I liked his little windup radio. A foil space-age emergency blanket would be a good idea. There are many sites to discuss bugout bags, I would not recommend this one as a starting point.

I agree that we should get beyond social settings and move into actual planning and detailed discussions of some topic the group might be interested in. Let me know if this was helpful.
