Hey everyone! I would like to apologize to the group if there was any confusion over the weekend with the handful of emails that were sent out, but things are now back up and running at full speed! I'm incredibly excited for all of the things that are currently being planned and I'll tell you about them shortly! But first I want to recap the main focus of this group. The initial description of Denver's Urban Survival Network is what brought us all together, it's what has grown this group from just a small handful of people to now over 300 members in the network, so at this time I would like to revisit it. It states that:

"Survival is a common and critical need among all humans, no matter what religion, political affiliation, ethnicity, education, family situation, or sense of humor you have. In the DUSN, all our differences are left behind, and the core principles of living through anything that may come our way is available for everyone."

So I'm asking that when attending meetups and posting on the site we all keep the core principles of the group in mind.

So now onto the fun stuff, we asked what this group is looking for and the responses came in loud and clear...  WE NEED MORE MEETUPS! Well, we're listening. Last year we had started a very successful guest lecture series where DUSN members stepped up to host very real world and practical meetups. They were either in an outside instructional setting or an indoor class type setting and I would once again like to open up this opportunity to the group! If hosting one of these is something that interests you please reach out to me at DavidKamau@live.com so we can work together and make it happen.

Lastly, MeetUp is a great tool but can be a little difficult to navigate sometimes, so here are some quick tips. If there are ideas, questions, cool products, tricks, things for sale, fun stories, or anything else you want to share with the whole group, I strongly encourage you to do so, and the discussion forum is perfect for that. They are located here ..., or you can access them by clicking the "Discussions" tab then selecting "Message Board" at the top of the meetup site. Also if you have an idea for a meetup that you would like to host, or that you would like to see hosted, please please please suggest it by clicking "Schedule a New Meetup" which is located near the top of the main page. The amazing thing about this meetup group is that we have so many different people with so many different experiences that we can likely find a way to make it happen.

So once again, I want to thank everyone for being a part of this fantastic group and I hope that you are as excited as I am about the awesome things coming up!

David,

Sounds great! Let me know if you need help with anything. I will be setting up monthly range time in Pike National Forest each month.

I would also like to set up quarterly camping trips with survival aspects involved.

I would like to shout out to all the hunters in this group. I would like to set up a small game hunt really soon. I would also like to set up a fishing trip soon also. So all anglers and hunters, get your small game & fishing license.

Also do we have a good meeting spot? I wanted to set up an event of "What is your preparedness plan?"

I wanted to give the group a heads up finding copier boxes for at work for the meetup Sat. It's turning into a bigger challenge than I thought it would be. We have an in building move about to crack off, and as soon as boxes appear they're vanishing. I have a large box and could maybe scrape up a couple of more. I will try and get more but I'm not hopeful.
