Next Meeting Learn How to be a Rock Star Tester!

Learn to be a ROCK STAR Tester!

BE SURE TO COME EARLY IF YOU ARE A HIRING MANAGER or A PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATE: From 5:30pm to 6 pm hiring managers will be talking to applicants and taking resumes. Overstock (and perhaps others) will be looking for testers and QA engineers on Wednesday.

NEW UPDATE (5/16/12)- Randy's Salt Lake City trip has been cancelled so he will be presenting LIVE FROM OKLAHOMA via video conference.

Randy Rice will be speaking...

Rock stars have one thing in common – they are at the top of their game. They also are admired, sought after and endure for many years as they bring value to their fans through music that entertains people.

Software testers may seem to have nothing in common with rock stars. But in this presentation, Randy Rice shows how testers and QA professionals can learn positive lessons from rock stars to add value to their companies, become sought after in the marketplace and have an edge on 99% of the other testers competing for the same positions.

You will learn how to build a personal brand, how to find your sound or uniqueness, how to be the best at what you do, how to create a stage for yourself, how to please your audience and how to endure although the marketplace changes. Attend this session to grow in your career as a tester and become one of the 1% of testers that people see as a “software testing rock star.”

Great meeting. I liked the quote Randy started out with. "With QA, failure is not an's an objective."

It seemed like the theme was do these things to get attention, My thought was more of what to do to be a better tester.

Great meeting. Glad we could work out the remote session conference. Also very good message - I think that it is imperative to be career-minded, building our tool boxes, skill sets, specialties, and brands.

If there was a description of what this meet up was about I must have missed it. I was expecting to learn how to be a better tester. What things I could be doing better. Things like that. But at this meet up. It seemed to be focused on how to promote yourself. Don't get me wrong. I agree people need to promote themselves. and it was good to see ways to do it. So maybe this meet up should have had a different title, or a subtitle " How to be Rockstar Tester, by getting people to notice you"

The presentation went well despite the technical hurdle of having a remote presenter.
