VA Sistagirls (VASG) was started in 2007 as a Yahoogroup. We became a meetup in 2009. VASG is a group for women of color who live, work and/or are raising families in Northern Virginia. Our goal is to connect with other sistagirls looking to make new friends, hang out and talk about life as we know it. This group has been a blessing to me and many others.
2014 VA Sistagirl Focus
This year the VA Sistagirls will focus on social responsibility, community service/engagement, self-improvement and true networking within the group and with other meetups. Oh, forgot to add more laughs and fun!
Events - Postings/Suggestions
If you have any suggestions, please email me directly. Please include as many details as possible. If your suggestion is approved, you will be added as the Event Hostess for that particular event.
Did you know we have a Yahoo Group?
It's been active for years. Feel free to join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VA_Sistagirls/
It's currently just random chatter about celebs, blog post, reality tv, Fairfax County news and an open place to ask questions, for referrals and to vent. We do ask that you respect the opinions and thoughts of others.
VA Sistagirl Membership
If you are a member of LOTS of similar meetups, your membership may not be approved. We are looking for active members. Being a member of multiple meetups may not allow you to be an active member of VA Sistagirls. Just a thought.
Do your part to make this a great group. We had a good time in 2013. Lots of laughs, too much food and a better understanding of our fellow sistagirls.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
