guitar, bass, drums, bongos, might start up with some harmonica. Playing other instruments gives me an appreciation for what other people are playing and reminds me to be considerate when part of a group
I've always wanted to play since I was a kid watching my dad playing slack-key style. I finally got my chance when my father-in-law gave me my first guitar as a wedding gift in 1991...I picked it up fairly quickly learning three chords and then learning Hootie and the Blowfish's "Let Her Cry" (Wah Wah Wah) and Elvis's "Can't Help Falling in Love". I joined the military and had to put that aside for a while and so I have been fiddling around since about 1995...that sounds like a long time but I peaked a long time ago playing on my own so I am looking for ways to expand my knowledge and playing style
john mayer, tom petty, stevie ray vaughn, allman brothers, some other ones...my iTunes looks jacked up, but it frees me up from getting stuck in a rut playing one style only...
I have been playing for a long time, but it'd mainly been just by myself learning through reading materials, youTube and anything else anyone can show me...I plateaued a very long time ago and looking for a group of guys to play with/learn from.
