Good News! Udupi Cafe, long famous for great Indian VEG food in Tempe, has a new owner, Rohit, a charter member of our VEG group! Rohit is committed to seeing that Udupi Cafe becomes the go-to place in the Phoenix metro for VEG dining, VEG events and related activities, and just hanging out. The restaurant is closed through Friday of this week, as it undergoes renovations, but it will soon be open with new management, a new look, and new menu items. Stay tuned for more details!
And, group member, Shannon, recently sent me the link to watch the film, “Genetic Roulette,” documenting urgent problems with genetically modified foods in our food supply. The film explains a great many of the health issues our loved ones are suffering from, including farm animals and even our pets. You can view a free trailer of the film at http://geneticroulettemovie.com/ (Note: there is a $2.99 donation required to watch the entire 85-minute film online.)
Also, it looks as though we’re expecting a big turnout (with 40 RSVPs) for the tour of City Center Farms and VEG potluck this coming Thursday night at 7pm! City Center Farms is a farm of the future, "Beyond All Organic Farms" - one that is entirely indoors and food is grown hydroponically with LED lights. Microgreens, herbs and lettuce are all grown here, pesticide-free, in a "clean room" environment. You must see it to believe it!
