Thanks for attending Vermont Code Camp 4!

Vermont Code Camp Registrants/Attendees:

We have pulled off yet another fabulous Vermont Code Camp ...for the 4th year in a row. 171 people came through the door on Saturday and once again, at least in the morning, we had some beautiful Fall weather to compete with.

We've heard so much great feedback and hope that everyone had a great day, not just learning from our great speakers on so many varied topics, but meeting and hanging out with other geeks.

There is such a vibrant technical community in Vermont which is apparent from the various user groups. We hope that you'll continue the conversations throughout the year. Look at the bottom of this email for a list of local user groups!

Where else but in Vermont are you going to find day old Keurig (thanks again Green Mountain Coffee Roasters!) machines in the raffle at the end of the day?

Look for a few special post-Code Camp offers from our sponsors at the end of this email!

Cruise Winners

We're still waiting to hear from 2 Cruise raffle winners. The tickets are good through Oct 14th. Please email so I can get them to you.

We'll encourage speakers to put slides up on with a VTCC4 tag.  Some speakers have put slides on their own websites and we've seen them tweet about it on the #vtcc4 hashtag.

Just wow! We had 24 speakers. Many of them came “from away” — New York, Montreal, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virgina. Everyone did fantastic presentations. And we had a bunch of new local speakers who were awesome. The quality of the presentations was comparable to many of the large conferences I have attended!

If you have an opportunity to thank any of our sponsors (look on directly, via twitter, your blogs or however you choose, please do. Everything that made this day happen was thanks to our sponsors — from the venue, to the website, to the food, volunteer t-shirts, giveaways, raffles, support for speakers, etc.

The same (big thanks!) goes for our many volunteers. A lot of work went into planning, preparing for and running this code camp.

We’re ever so grateful to our volunteers:

Adam Fournier, Bruce Blackman, Carl Lorentson, Carol Morris, John Cicilio, John Need, Kyle Mitofsky, Laura Blood, Manrique Logan, Mark Henley (who came all the way from Maine!), Matt Bannach, Mike Jones, Sophie Huang, Steve Wolfe and William Charlton.

A special thanks to my fellow organizing committee team! Margot Schips who went above and beyond, taking charge of everything we needed with regards to the facility. Found Line was in charge of the site and other design needs. Rob Hale from MyWebGrocer really kept things running smoothly on Saturday. Special thanks to John Pile from Champlain College and Tom Chittenden from UVM's School of Business Administration.

Twitter, Photos etc.

Continue to follow the #VTCC4 hashtag on Twitter, Flickr, etc. to see what people are saying about the code camp. Our Meetup site ( where you registered is a great place to share photos of the event and comments as well.

Follow the @VTCodeCamp twitter alias for related info.

Next Year

Of course, we're already looking forward to Vermont Code Camp 5 next fall. Watch for another email.

Lost Water Bottle?

Did you lose a bicycling water bottle? We found one. Shoot us an email and we'll see about reconnecting you.
