The Bus Movie Screening at Vail Lake Resort in Temecula

VW (bus or van) REGISTRANTS ENTER FREE - details below:

What a great event to hold through our Meetup page, a screening of The Bus Movie! For those that haven't heard, The Bus Movie is a documentary about the history and the fanaticism of the VW bus. With cameos by Everett Barnes of The fame, Lucas from GoWesty, and Bill Staggs from, this is sure to be a great movie. A screening of the movie at Syncro de Mayo left some in the audience in tears. And what better way to see it than out in nature where the bus was meant to be!

The NORMAL $10 Vail Lake Resorts vehicle entry fee, which covers the cost of the movie, is being waived for VW bus and van owners. As a courtesy, please RSVP here so the owners know how many to expect. The gate opens at 5pm for the screening and the movies starts at 8:30. But come on up for the day and enjoy the lake, picnic, or camp Friday and/or Saturday night (fees apply). Make sure you get there early to find good seating and so you're not waiting in line when the movie starts.

  • Carne Asada Mexican Grill and Bar (fee applies) starts at 5:00pm with Vail Lake Resorts opening bands.
  • Music starring Cash’d Out - Americas #1 Johnny Cash tribute band.
  • Sorry NO DOGS or OUTSIDE ALCOHOL allowed at this event.
  • Camping has been reduced from $100 to $55 per site and allows two campers or a camper and a tent. Make your reservations here (951) 303-0173. Tell them you are coming for the bus movie screening.

The owners have been bus owners for years and their daughter Liv has a sweet '74 bus in nice shape. She's the one that organized the screening.

It was a fun time. The movie was shown on a 30' outdoor screen with the lake in the background. There was a slight hill so there were no bad spots to put your chair.

Do we know if we can camp there yet? Want to take the family sounds like a great time but not sure if doable, I called and they said I would have to rent a trailer or RV instead of sleeping in my Westy.
