DAYTRIP: Ferry Boat Ride from Vallejo to San Francisco for $10.00 round trip!!!

FYI, This is a RAIN OR SHINE event. The ferry building in Vallejo is sheltered, the ferry itself is sheltered, and the Embarcadero, where the Farmers Market is held, is also indoors. If it rains, we may adjust the plans slightly, but it's still happening, no worries!

If you've never taken the ferry into the City from Vallejo, this is one of the BEST views of the city there is, and it's totally worth the trip just to see the views.  Seats on the ferry are very comfortable, there are even tables, outlets, restrooms, and a snackbar on board.  The ride is about an hour.

Annetta and Brian are organizing a really fun daytrip for us, and the Happy Wanderers!

For just $10 round trip, we can ride the ferry into SF, how cool is that??

Details: We will meet at the Panama Red Coffee Co. in the Vallejo Ferry Building at 9:30 am (free parking is across the street), have a beverage and purchase our tickets for the ferry. Look for our MEETUP sign, or you will probably recognize some of us from our photos.

We will board the ferry at 9:55, the ferry disembarks at 10:00, and it arrives in SF at 11:00 at the Embarcadero Station. We will land smack in the middle of the SF Farmers market where one can find all sorts of delectables, so bring your recyclable shopping bag!

After the market begins to wrap up, around 1:30 pm, we will take the cable car from the Embarcadero to Fisherman's Wharf. Along the route we will stop at the Cable Car Museum and then continue to the North Beach area for a cup of delicious Italian coffee and pastry. We will then continue a few blocks to Fisherman's Wharf, where you can wander about the Wharf sampling the various tourist attractions. We will then depart from the wharf on the Ferry at 6:30 arriving back in Vallejo at 8 pm.

NOTE: There is also an option, if you cannot join us for the whole day, to depart earlier from the Wharf Ferry Station at 2:10 pm or the Embarcadero Ferry Building at 2:30 pm, arriving in Vallejo an hour later.

We will send an email to those who rsvp with additional details.

What a great day in the city! Blue skies after a wonderful lunch at Farmer's Market. Pleasant stroll in the sun to Pier 39. Hard to believe after pouring rain on Ferry ride.
Funny....rain came back right when we boarded to come back. to Vallejo. Had a fun time!

We had a great time, a fabulous relaxing day in SF! The weather turned out to be quite nice, never needed to pull out the umbrella, but I sure could have used some sunglasses!

Lots of no-shows, because of the rain most likely, but the die-hards were rewarded with a gorgeous day in the city, as the sun came out just as we arrived, and stayed just until we left, can you believe it??!! What a great day, with many different adventures, which we all shared on the ride back. I'm tired lol. Heading to bed now. Thanks everyone who made it, it was a really good day!

Buy your aquarium vouches TODAY, to be sure you get them on time. You may or may not receive a confirmation email that they are ready for printing. So, go to, and click on "my vouchers" in upper right corner. You should see your voucher(s) there. They are good until October, and you can get a refund within 7 days if you do not end up using it tomorrow, so if you even THINK you might do this, go ahead and get one.

Great idea Dennis. Since there are so many of us, we'll be splitting up into smaller groups most likely, so if some of us want to do that it's definitely an option! We'll have an hour on the ferry to chat and figure out who wants to do what. We will also be emailing everyone a proposed itinerary, with a few key meeting times/places. THE MUSEE MECANIQUE (Pier 45 Shed A at the end of Taylor Street
Fisherman's Wharf) is worth seeing as well, and it's free.
