Valley Shore Acappella is a group of dynamic women from all over Connecticut who meet in Middletown, CT once a week on Wednesday evenings to sing acappella music in the barbershop style. We are an open and welcoming group to all women of all ages. We sing a variety of music, from standards to contemporary and have an amazing new young director, Angie Clark! Angie is a graduate of Hartt school of music (U of Hartford) and is an instrumentalist as well as amazing singer. Angie is the baritone of our regional quartet champs VOCE', and in the top 20 Internationally! Her rehearsals are as much fun as they are learning music. We're so happy to have her guide us.
No prior experience necessary. If you love to sing, enjoy harmonies, love to laugh and learn music with other like minded women, then come and check us out! We are hoping to increase our membership and especially encourage young women (high school +) since our parent organization, Sweet Adelines International, has many free educational opportunities available. We have quartets and small ensembles as well as the chorus. We love to perform for our community in many venues from public to private events, community organizations, restaurants, hospitals, retirement residences, street fairs and more! If you sang in school (elementary to college!) and miss it, check us out! If you watch "Glee" and wish you were there, there's a place for you on our risers, no charge for first 6 weeks. Come sing, learn and play with us!
