Zonoff "Connected Home" demo

Zonoff, Inc. has been generous enough to offer to host our group for a demonstration of their offerings! If you're interested in the hot home automation / Internet of Things tech space or in tech startups this would be a good event to attend.

We'll start with an introduction including a bit about the history of the company and about the state of the IoT space and how Zonoff fits within it.  It looks like our executives will be participating in at least this portion of the evening.

About the Demo:

Zonoff has a simulated home within their office where they have installed a Staples Connect system that they developed. The installation includes dozens of controllable devices and one or more mobile applications for interacting with the home. They will take a handful of folks through the demo house at a time to show off how the system works. The demo can be 15 or 20 minutes. Over the course of the evening we’ll get everyone through. We’ll look into doing one or two other talks (like the history of the company or the state of the Internet of Things, TBD) that we will have scheduled during the evening.

Break-out Sessions:

In addition to hanging out and seeing our demo room, several informal breakout sessions will be offered.

• The Use of Continuous Integration and Deployment in an embedded environment.

• About mesh networking (Zigbee, Z-Wave, etc)

About Zonoff:

Zonoff, Inc. provides a comprehensive software platform to channel partners including retailers, service providers, consumer electronics OEMs and system integrators who, in turn, deliver “Connected Home” products and services to the consumer mass market. Great seeing everyone last night. Don't forget about our Dev Night on the 29th @ KOP Wegmans. Speaking of which, I was talking with a gentleman last night who teaches AngularJS and mentioned he'd like to give a talk, but I forgot to trade contact info! So sir, if you're reading this, please email me [masked] and we can discuss the details. Thanks!

Really glad to have attended. This was quite an interesting topic and speakers were excellent! Now I have to go plunk down some cash for a few devices and the hub!

Not the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything" but maybe the answer to home automation for the everyman.

Please respond to this poll regarding which breakout sessions you are interested in. We are not going to be taking attendance, just looking to get a feel for the interest in these sessions. If you are interested in both, you may indicate so on the poll.

I'll be coming back from DevIntersection in Orlando and will not be able to make this one. Anything scheduled for May?

Hey Jeff - nothing scheduled for May yet. Have something in mind? Would love to talk more. Shoot Kari or me an email when you get a chance with any ideas you had and we can go from there.
