Field Trip and Potuck at the Ox N` Yoke Farm Animal Sanctuary

The Gordon Family who are members of our group have invited us to visit their privately run animal sanctuary and have a potluck there. Their home is also the home to numerous animals large and small which they have rescued.

Bring a vegan dish to share which can feed 6-8 people (main dish, side dish or dessert). Please remember to bring a place setting, and also a card with the ingredients of your dish. Children can come if they are well behaved and are respectful to the sensitivity of the rescued animals, some of whom are fearful due to previous mistreatment.

Ride sharing to this event is encouranged. There is a Rides Wanted/Offered section of our message boards to help members connect. It is 45-55 minutes to there from Florence. Also, please note that there is no cell phone service in the area.

Directions: From Northampton, head west on Route 9 though Florence into Williamsburg. After passing though downtown Williamsburg, turn left onto Route 143. Continue on Route 143 through Chesterfield and Worthington. After the welcome to Peru sign, go another 2 1/2 miles and then turn left at the blinking light onto South Road. Follow South Road a few miles to its end and then turn left on to Middlefield Road. Go 1/2 mile and turn right into the driveway of #112. It is directly across from a sea foam green cabin on the other side of the road. Head up the long drive and keep to the left and go toward the house, not toward the barn, to park.
