Van City Free Capture Photography is a gathering for people who are enthusiastic about the art of photography, and who wish to develop their craft by participating and sharing with others. Our group was created with the intention of helping hobbyists move from heedless, Auto mode to an engaged, Manual mode. At VCFCP you can learn the basics or practice your technique alongside people of different experiences and interests.
Our events are fun, instructive and intimate. They can be easy going walks, exercises and workshops, all of varying themes, concepts and techniques. They also involve small groups so we can have an ambiance of camaraderie, an easy opportunity to get to know one another, the chance to ask questions and have discussions, and time with a guide.
We are also eager about exploring and getting to know our city and the region. Events are held in and out of Vancouver, in both urban and natural environments.
Whatever your skill level, whatever your photographic interests, we hope you participate, learn, share and have fun. We also encourage you to find a place within VCFCP and help us grow as a group.
Please read our group guidelines (meetup.com/Van-City-Free-Capture-Photography/about/) for information about attendance, participation, posting photos, cost and our discussion boards.
Our banner this year is from Vancouver photographer Sharon Wish.
Refunds are not offered for this Meetup.
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
