At least I think it is. This is a tight crop out of the previous shot. The background is now out of the way and there is a lot less in it. This one works -- though it might be a little dark.

Nice flower work Paul. Most people took no notice of the flowers whatsoever, by the look of it. We're so used to having them around in this part of the world that we don't even see them anymore.

Thank you. I cheat by taking pictures of flowers because they are easy. They are pretty to begin with. They hold still for you (mostly if there isn't a wind). They can look good with both deep and shallow depth of field. They can stand very little or a heckuva lot of post processing. Lots of reasons why I like them. However, the downside is you usually get just pretty pictures without anything deeper than that. However, I'm happy with just pretty pictures if there isn't anything else around.

I really put this one up with the previous full shot to get comments about whether my assessment of image 102 was correct and to give others an example to think about. Did 102 and 103 work for that do you think?

It's not too dark, and the background, too, is about the right shade. I have to make a philosophical comment here: What's "not deep" about beauty? People love to look at beautiful pictures of beautiful things. It gives a lift to their spirits, and what could be better than that? So keep firing away at them flowers and don't feel bad about it or like you're being uncreative or not saying anything. You're taking pictures of things made by the most creative mind that has ever existed.

Ya, this one is way better than 102. The cropping is perfect.
