My background has been exclusively in the automotive service industry as a technicain, business owner, instructor and writer. Wanting to give back to this industry by developing a brand new commercial marketing platform, I was introduced to Joomla 4 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. My problem is that I am not a developer and I find myself having to learn to become a developer if this project is to bloom.
Content management and publishing.
My internet portfolio is limited to one project; The Automotive Service Business Network; www.asbn.ca It is an ambitious project (9 years so far) creating a functioning community from competitive, isolated and independent businesses here in BC as well as create a 'first of its kind' marketing platform for the many commercial suppliers of this industry.
Finding local Joomla users is not an easy task. Joining this group just might make my life a little easier. Forums are fine, but I'm a little 'old fashioned'; I prefer dealing within my own community.
Web 2.0 is here to stay and Joomla is the leader in the field. Joomla is highly popular around the world but ironically slow to catch on here in Vancouver which is supposed to be the mecca for developers in North America. Come on folks, let's get with the program.
