Hi Everyone! Lets hike up Allouett Mountain in Golden Ears Park. The panoramic view from Alouette Mountain is spectacular. For many hikers the highlight of the trail are the virgin old growth stands of mountain hemlock and yellow cedar.
**This is an intermediate hike with 1100 meters of elevation gain over 11km and will take a solid 8 hours return trip (22km total distance). Please come well prepared with plenty of food and water. This is NOT a beginners hike**
I was on this trail back in May and there were numerous blow downs making for some tough slogging. By Late July all the snow should be gone, but I think we can expect the top to be a bit muddy. The peak is well worth the effort.
We'll meet up at the Sears Outlet Store parking lot just across from Lougheed Skytrain and car pool to the trail head from there. We'll leave the parking lot no later than 8:15am.
