We are the only weekly cold read scene drop-in in Vancouver. We are celebrating our 11th year in the studio at Cineworks and are now welcoming those with no experience to those with much experience performing. Currently we have both. Drop in to act out a scene and/or bring in a scene to watch or direct it. Monologues are welcome as well. Performers often hook up with independent filmmakers present. You are also welcome to watch for free..

When: Tuesday nights – drop in any time between 7 and 9:30 pm.

Cost: $7

Where: Cineworks is the back alley entrance to the Pacific Cinemateque. The PC is at 1181 Howe between Davie and Helmcken, closer to Helmcken in downtown Vancouver B.C. If you are in front of the Cinemateque walk left to Helmcken then take a left till you get to the alley. Turn left into the alley and walk by 8 parking spaces till you get to a door with an Actors Drop In sign on it. You can also park in one of the spaces. Call us if you want further directions.

More Info: Call Cass/Irwin at 604-872-4638 and leave a brief message

Expect scenes from classic plays, film, television as well as newly written scenes never performed before. Let us know if you would like to direct a scene you bring in. Most scenes are 1-3 pages enabling us to get people up on stage at least four times during the night if they arrive at 7 pm. Socialize later at karaoke.

Our stockpile of 900 scenes and growing include:

The Graduate, The Teddy Bear Chronicles, Blazing Saddles, My Cousin Vinny, Macbeth, Saving Private Ryan, Monty Python Proof with dramatic and comedic scenes written by performers and filmmakers at the Drop In.
