They're here! The special edition Cylon toasters have arrived and those of us who have them are eager to show them off! For those of you who don't know, these are special edition toasters that burn an image of the new Centurion into your toast.

What better way to celebrate Labour Day than to eat Cylon toast and watch BSG with your friends? The event is BYOB (Bring your own bread!) and let's make it a potluck too....jam for the toast, fresh fruit, whatever you can think of to share.

Plus, we'll have a TV & DVD player at our disposal, so I'll bring the Webisodes for anyone who hasn't seen them, and we'll try to track down good copies of the gag reels and Video Blogs to show off.

And if that isn't enough, we will have special guests Tom & Al in from New Mexico, just starting their visit to Vancouver, so let's show them some northern hospitality!

A toast....to our favourite TV show! So say we all!

If you've got BSG mini-mates, bring 'em along! I'd love to have as many of them as we have guests at the party! Of course, that means even more Cylon photography!

This sounds awesome! Hope I can make it. I waited too long to order my toaster, and they were no longer available...

Our special guests will be staying at Cambie Lodge Bed and Breakfast on West 13th Avenue. Anyone going by there on their way to the Space Centre, who could give them a ride? Much appreciated!

Valerie, her husband, and Serena were magnificent hosts, extremely kind, hospitable and fun to be with. Everyone went out of the way to make these two visitors from South Canada feel welcome. We really had a good time and learned a lot. My son Al enjoyed learning insider details about working in the Vancouver film industry. We both find Vancouver an exciting, friendly and fascinatingly-diverse place to live! We also got great photos we'll be sharing within a month.
    •  This is a very creative bunch! I was impressed by the sheer variety of goodies that people brought.

A little late in doing this but I had a lot of left over bread to toast. It's a good thing there where other places to plug things in, otherwise we would of had to draw pictures on the bread with a sharpie.
    •  An excellent low key event, with a good mix of chatting, people (new, old and visiting), toast and video information.
    • Val (+2 guests)
Thanks to everyone for letting me make a big deal of my new toaster! It's great to meet people in person who I've only met online before. And always nice to see so many familiar faces, at a low-key event where I can catch up with everyone.
    •  Cylon toast - what could be bad about that?
    •  Despite some technical difficulties with the toaster (and really, thank the gods! - you wouldn't want a toaster around that worked perfectly, would you?) it was a great event. It was nice visiting with friends, and meeting new people. Thanks for providing us with an excuse, Val!
