Michele Billy Povill here. Love film (Board of Directors of WIFTV), cooking, good food, good friends and new job as VP Corp Sales for CMP.LY (The New Standard for Transparent Marketing).

How long have you been doing it and what is your level of business expertise?

Have been in Sales and Marketing for over 20+ years. Began my professional career as an actress with a role in Star Trek TMP. Have been Director of Marketing for my husband and my film production company (Paxdyne Entertainment) since 1995. Worked in Emerging Media for over 10 years, first as West Coast Sales Manager for XM Satellite Radio since it's inception in 2000 to 2009 and am currently VP of Corp Sales for a Social Media company (CMP.LY).

What business are you in? What do you do?

My expertise is in Sales and Marketing. As VP of Corp Sales for CMP.LY my job is to offer businesses a simple way to comply with regulatory requirements in all forms of social media. I research target accounts, make calls, write e-mails, make presentations (both online and in person) and close business. I also find sponsors for WIFTV to support this non profit organization.

Why do you want to join?

I believe the best way to move any business forward is through Word of Mouth Marketing. ( CMP.LY is actually a member of WOMMA). I have been in media sales for more years than I would like to admit, but the best marketing is referrals and word of mouth. This has become even more relevant since the inception of social media. SM allows for this marketing to flourish and I want to continue to learn how to best tap into this new medium. I also an fairly new to the Vancouver area and do not have a large networking base. I very much want to expand my network and believe this meet up is a very good way to begin this process.
