Concurrent and Network Programming in Haskell

Hard to believe its been nearly a year since the last Haskell Meetup, but the good news is that the guys from Birdseye Software are back to share some of their latest goodness!!!

Roman and Tavis are using Haskell for a product they're working on and they've been doing a lot of:

1) concurrent Haskell programming

2) network programming in Haskell (TCP, Websockets, Unix Domain IPC sockets, UDP, and HTTP via Snap)

Should be a good one, looking forward to seeing you there. -- Jesse

At the last Meetup someone expressed interest in more basic Haskell meetups. I am thinking of having these in a Waves meeting room. If interested please express your interest. :)

The presenters stroke a good balance between high level design aspects and implementation details. A great overview for someone who's just getting started with the language like me.

Quite enlightening. Really feels a lot like the session on iteratees we had during one of the first meetups.

There have been some tweets that other programmers think some functional programmers seem to be six feet above contradiction - like preachers. I think the concept of "composability" needs to be stressed. :)

By the way, in a group of 23? people there is an over 50% chance that two people have the same birthday.

Yes, I did the mathematics in a probability course but it still seems counter-intuitive. http://en.wikipedia.o...
