Applicative Functors and Cloud Haskell's Platform Library

In this opportunity, we will have two presentations:

Colin Woodbury will be presenting common use cases and scenarios of the Applicative Functors Library. Colin is the creator of Aura a secure, multilingual package manager for Arch Linux and the AUR.

Roman Gonzalez will be presenting the rest of his Cloud Haskell presentation, specifically the distributed-process-platform library, and how to get started with it.

Awesome, I've often wondered how one choose between the plethora of these highly abstract options and this will go further into informing my decisions.

Also, it was interesting to see how Cloud Haskell is progressing.

Learned good working examples. I should clean up my code in pet projects.

Feel like I could said so much more, especially about Elm. One big thing: All Monads are Applicative Functors, meaning if you ever have some messy Monadic code, you can probably clean it up with Applicatives.
