November Full Indie

November's meetup has a date.  Come and join us for an evening of speeches, networking, eating and drinking!

Please don't just sign up to reserve a place and then fail to show up as this is unfair to other members.  We've been seeing a lot of this going on.  If you can't make it remember to change your RSVP so people on the waiting list can go instead.  Thanks for being nice :-)

The meetup will kick off with 3 speakers and then transition into free-form networking.

- Doors open at 6:30pm.
- Speeches start at 7:00pm.
- Networking begins around 7:30pm

Bring your games to the meetup! It's a great place to get feedback so bring along your laptop or mobile device and show off your hard work.

Please try to turn up and grab a name tag before the speeches start at 7pm so that you don't disturb the speakers mid-flow. Many thanks for your consideration!

See you at the meetup!

Hey indies! Thanks for a great meetup. I wanted to mention, I run the Transmedia Vancouver meetup group. As part of the international community of transmedia meetups, Transmedia Vancouver is dedicated to growing and nurturing the community of transmedia developers in Vancouver. Through guest speakers, classes, and networking events, we want to bring together people from across the map of content creation—filmmakers, digital producers, game developers, writers, marketers, documentarians, and more. Content and storytelling is a converging field, and we want to help creators learn from each other for the betterment of all, regardless of what your goals are, or where are are in your career. Would love to have some of you come if you're interested! December's meetup will be a good discussion and networking mixer, so a great time to come if you're new. Please check out Thanks!

Wasn't kidding - one week left in Movember. Send me your Movember profile link and I'll toss some coin into the pot.

Thanks for another awesome meet-up gang.

    Hello Indies,

I know I talked to many of you about practicums and our Student Showcase day at BCIT. However, due to ongoing job action on campus, I'm afraid we have had to reschedule the Student Showcase. It will take place sometime in the spring.

In the mean time, if you are interested in more information about sponsoring a spring practicum, please email me at timhargreaves at jag dot net and I will try to answer any questions you may have.

    Sorry for the inconvenience,

It was great to see the reaction to the BCIT Games Dev practicum. I heard about some really interesting projects. My favorite thing about Indie Dev is still the innovation that can take place.
