The Westminster Pier Park connects visitors to the mighty Fraser River and when combined with the Waterfront Esplanade Boardwalk creates a magnificent 2.5 km linear waterfront park.
The innovative and award winning Westminster Pier Park is uniquely built with equal parts built on land and water (supported by 3,600 pilings). The park's amenities include: a 600 meter water front boardwalk and elevated viewpoints.
The Waterfront Esplanade Boardwalk was developed with a unique waterfront theme to connect visitors to the Fraser River.
How do I get there: If you are taking Sky train, get off at New Westminster Station and walk across the street. Go to www.translink.ca for info on buses. There are many pay parking lots in the area and there is some street parking.
The route: We will make our way to the River Market....it is the centre point of our walk....from there we will head to right and walk along the the Waterfront Boardwalk Esplanade, turn around, walk past the River Market and head into the Westminster Pier Park.
What should I bring: A camera....any type is fine; a camera phone, a point and shoot or a DSLR, wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly. We will be walking along the river and it will be chilly.
