What is the one thing you would love to master in photography?

I would love to get my exposure spot on every time. It is wonderful to have great tools to use like light meters, but they are not fool proof. I hope that over time my exposure and reading the light will get to the point of mastery!

How long have you been doing photography?

My first camera was a small Kodak 110. It was a film camera and it took really average photos, but for me it was as if a whole new world opened up. I remember going to the airport as a young boy with my grandfather to take photos of the "jumbo jets" parked there. I went into full-time photography in 2008, before that I was in the corporate world of marketing and strategy...

What is your favourite genre of photography - Landscape, Portrait...?

I love Landscape and Nature Photography. There is something incredibly satisfying about being out in nature and capturing the soft light of the scene that makes the image glow. I love the process of being out there and working with the light to make a dramatic image. I also enjoy architectural, hotel and food photography, which in many ways are similar to landscape photography... we can discuss that on one of the photowalks!!

How did you hear about Vancouver Photowalks?
