I'm very excited to announce that Pilar Alessandra, author of "The Coffee Break Screenwriter" and host of the On The Page podcast, is coming to Vancouver!
Pilar has been at the top of my guest lecturer list since I took over as organizer. Her podcast is a tremendous (FREE!) resource for me personally, and her book is every bit as valuable, especially for those of us trying to break into screenwriting while holding down a full-time job. She has an astounding amount of experience and insight, and her many Los Angeles-based classes are consistently sold out. I'm tickled that she's agreed to squeeze this class into her very busy schedule!
We all know character and dialogue are incredibly important for any screenplay, yet I see members struggling in this area every Script Reading session. So how do you take what you've written and jazz it up into something memorable? What makes a character unique? What makes for bad dialogue? How do you write in subtext? Come to this intensive class to have these questions and more answered.
The official details are below. Due to the limited seating, registration is ONLY available through the On The Page website, we cannot accept cash at the door. Pilar is working on setting up a link for the class, I'll announce it as soon as it's available. In the meantime, save the date!
I'll open up a waiting list so you can express your interest, but once the link becomes active it's first-come-first-served. The waiting list will not guarantee entry. Let me know when you receive your registration confirmation and I'll add you as a participant.
See you there!
