Forty Startup Communities rethinking the Gender Gap

Google for Entrepreneurs is introducing a new program called #40Forward. In an effort to find new ways to advance female entrepreneurs, Google for Entrepreneurs is committing $1 million in aggregate to 40 startup-focused organizations, challenging them to increase the representation of women in their respective tech communities. Startup Grind is proud to be one of those 40 organizations!

Join us on May 15th for our #40FORWARD event with Meredith Powell, founder of The Next Big Thing.

Meredith started out with a successful career in the film industry, then founded three brand management and business strategy agencies in the fast-paced fashion industry, opening showrooms across the US & Canada, all before the age of 27.

Meredith is the Creator of women’s speaker series, Founders Collective, a dedicated tech startup mentor, founding Advisory Board member to RAW Beauty Talks, and seed investor to multiple women-founded businesses.

Her work has been recognized by CTV, BC Business, Techvibes, The Sun, The Province, Startup Canada, the Globe & Mail and Woman of Worth Awards among others. Watch Meredith on CTV News

Great to see a better crowd than usual (women win at startups, according to stats) - could be a potential co-founder for Portfora was in the room...?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
