Introduction

My name is Tony Xie. I'm a student at University of Pennsylvania. I'm interested in web dev with rails, writing news stories, organizing hackathons, case competitions, and whatever is exciting.

All I want to do is constantly make cool web applications in rails.

I love both.

What skills/experience in business or tech?

Started a company with some friends when I was 17 in high school. Currently, constantly learning rails/ javascript/ ruby and such for web dev. I have organized a hackathon and helped a guy launch his iphone application in Philadelphia through a social media contest.

What topics are you interested &/or passionate about? What topics are on your radar?

I am interested in the intersection between traditional media, such as newspapers, and current technologies.

Hi Tony,

Glad to see you're interested in the Vancouver Entrepreneurs Toastmasters Club (VETC). We meet every Wednesday evening, from 6:45 PM to 9:00 pm. You will find us on southwest corner of Alberni and Burrard, on the 3rd floor (Pacific Languange Institute) of 755 Burrard Street .

After the meeting, if you find yourself interested in joining the VETC as a full-time member, then please ask to speak to Ale (VP of Membership) or Christian (President).
