The Vancouver Underground Party Network (VUPN) is for anyone interested in forward thinking or old school electronic dance music (EDM) in Vancouver. If you have a passion or curiosity for all shades of House, Techno, Minimal, Italo, Disco, Psytrance, Glitch Hop, Midtempo, Electro, and/or 80's obscure grooves, this group is for you!

Maybe you're curious as to what this scene and music is all about, and want to experience it. Maybe you're already a party-goer/EDM fan, and want to go out with a rad group of people more often. Maybe you used to go out, but don't know exactly how to get back into the scene. Or maybe you just like to dance for hours on end to killer tunes! VUPN can help with all of this.

To sum it up, it's amazing music, good vibes, peace, love, unity and respect. Not to be confused with raves full of adolescent children waving glow sticks and wearing bright colored baggy pants. Although we respect that culture, all our events will be geared toward a legal and mature crowd (19 - 40.)

The music we hear and venues we attend will, for the most part, be obscure and away from the mainstream. No sugar coated top 40 dance music, or places on Granville Street, for example.

Some things you can expect from our events are warehouse parties, club nights, and private parties (weekends or weeknights). Occasionally we'll do more major clubs when a particularly great/noteworthy DJ comes to town; and afterhours clubs, afterparties, and music festivals are not out of the question either. We switch it up a bit, and have VUPN Social Nights at lounges every few months too.  We'll also start to organize our own parties as the group continues to grow and opportunities come around.

We like to have fun until the sun comes up, and sometimes even longer! :D

*** During Meetups, if you show up drunk and belligerent, don't expect us to vouch for you or take care of you. We understand that alcohol and adult party favors are sometimes a part of a good night, and we'll do our best to take care of those who choose to do so responsibly.

*** If we have strict guest list for events, please adhere to it. We cannot guarantee to get you in if you do not.

*** This group may not be for you if your idea of "dance music" is Lady Gaga, anything on local radio or Much Music / MTV.  But if you have an open mind, then you should be OK.

*** This is for music lovers! Please respect the DJs, and don't make any requests unless you are confident that the music you are requesting would fit the format of the night. But in general, usually no requests at the places we go.
