While all of Vancouver is Christmas shopping, skip that. Have a beer instead. Start drinking early (the good thing is, they serve it in small glasses, not even sure they have pints). Draw that beer. It's a more relaxing way to spend a Saturday afternoon. This tasting room even has some simple food, like cheese, cold cuts, and bread. I am German-born, so those are pretty much my staples. If you're a wheat-free vegan, they have nuts, unless you're a wheat-free vegan who also has a nut allergy. In that case, you will already know how to work it out, I have a friend who is.
There is a large communal table which I am hoping we can take over at that early hour.
If you are not up for beer at 2:00 pm, they do have coffee as well.
Evelyn, our visitor from Melbourne, suggested we each bring a few small, loose pieces of paper (about the size of a business or credit card) and draw 5-minute portraits of each other as one of our sketch options, then give each person their portraits. Feel free to improvise, and I think sketchers are very forgiving of their own drawings, and therefore of others'. Also, it should be entirely voluntary to participate in this exercise.
Bring your own drawing materials, as always.
And be at least 19 years old.
Hope to see you there!
