Earlier in January, we tried to draw inside the Convention Centre, but it was closed for a private event. This time, I've checked their calendar and it looks like it will be open because "The Wellness Show" is going on there this weekend. So we should be able to walk around most of the building, inside and out, but obviously we can't go into the large hall where the trade show is — unless you want to pay the $12.50.
It's a neat piece of architecture, lots of people coming through, you can also stand inside by a large window and draw the outside views, and there are public restrooms.
There is also the option of walking over to Canada Place and drawing in there, or drawing the Vancouver Convention Centre from Canada Place and vice versa.
Let's meet at 1:00 p.m. outside the Convention Centre at the bright blue "Drop" sculpture, which is on the northeast corner of the seawall that surrounds the Convention Centre (see photo). There is a large roof right near the sculpture, so we don't have to get wet if it's raining.
Bring your own drawing materials. You may also want to bring a small folding stool for this one, or else you may have to lean against a wall or railing to draw.
Below is a photo of "The Drop" where we will meet. And if you miss us, let's meet at the end at 3:00 pm just inside the East entrance of the Convention Centre, there's a large lobby.
